I’m just testing my iPhone WordPress app. This little gem lets me update my WordPress blog via my iPhone.
It appears I can only do text updates. It would be nice if I could upload a photo to go with a post. Hey…wait a second….is that an Artoo Potatoo I see?
This should also update my Facebook and Twitter feeds as well. One small step for a man…one giant leap backwards in keeping my inner geek in check.
The iPhone has a kick-ass interface. But, for a product to be on version 2 dot whatever it is…it’s still missing some pretty damn basic features…especially in the Short Message Service functionality. Why can’t I forward a text message? Why can’t I forward a contact’s info via text message? I got all these fancy-smancy balloons all over my screen and I can’t do anything but delete ‘em or reply to them!?!?
And c’mon…I can only EMAIL pictures? Really???
I can Google for porn with my voice but I can’t just zap a picture to my boss’s phone?
They did make an advancement in the auto-spelling correction realm, however. At least now you can turn off Auto-Correct completely. But being able to turn it completely off ISN’T what I was looking for. I still want the spelling suggestions…just make it so they ACT like suggestions…..let me ACCEPT your suggestion.
Right now, unless I DECLINE the suggestion, Apple’s little “iSpellerz” genius software assumes THEY’RE RIGHT and replaces my word.
I find this very presumptuous, to say the least.
And while I’m on a rant….Dear Apple:
- What, you got like ONE guy working on that “Notes” application? God forbid I might actually use the notes application to write down…um…a PHONE NUMBER? That’s great! Now what can I do later with that phone number I typed in my $300 notepad? I can EMAIL it to someone?!?!? REALLY? That’s my ONLY option other than looking at it?
- Why the fancy cable? HTCs have been charging and transferring via standard USB cables for years…why this fancy white short cable that I can only get from one source? Are you in the fancy white short cable business?
- I’ve got to assume someone is holding a gun to your head over Copy+Paste. Because that’s your real weakness overall…the ability to transfer data seamlessly from one app to another. Windows Mobile is light years ahead of you in this arena.
I do enjoy the lightsaber, though.
