Glenn Beck was conspicuously absent from his radio and television shows this week, fueling speculation that he’s been fired for his comments about President Obama being racist.
It’s certainly not been a good month for the Beckster.
Gawker has been tallying the list of advertisers who have joined the boycott of Glenn Beck show, noting that just about all of his high-profile advertisers have fled in droves. Who’s left? Penis Enhancing pills, Egg cookers, portable oxygen tanks, and vacuum cleaners.
I watched one episode of Glenn Beck’s show recently at the bequest of a right wing asshat who offered to pay me $50 if I’d watch one whole show, which I did. I hadn’t actually watched his show before, only having seen clips on The Daily Show, Colbert and others.
In this episode, Beck starts with a disclaimer stating that he is NOT suggesting that Obama’s health care proposals are similar to Hitler’s Nazi Eugenics program. And then he proceeded to show a ten minute video (narrated by Beck) on the history of…you guessed it… Hitler’s Nazi Eugenics program.
You see, Glenn Beck is smart. He knows that he can’t get away with saying that Obama is Hitler, so he cleverly tells everyone that he’s NOT doing that. It’s a very clever tactic…for example, I could say the following:
No one is suggesting that Glenn Beck blows goats. See how it clearly says that I’m NOT saying that Glenn Beck fellates farm animals? There is absolutely NO PROOF that Glenn Beck sucks goats.
As to Beck’s disappearance this week, Fox is saying that he’s on a planned vacation.
I’m sure he’s certainly NOT visiting any goat farms.
