I couldn’t agree more. I’m at the Hack the Change hackathon in Philadelphia. Ted Drake of Yahoo suggested I reach out to you for help in building the Cost of Freedom Voter ID App. The prototype for the civic app was developed in December at the Random Hacks of Kindness at Drexel.

The Cost of Freedom App will provide voters with information on how to apply for a voter ID in states that require voters to show government-issued photo ID in order to vote.

I’m trying to setup an app using Twilio. About half the phone numbers they supplied me with for tracking don’t work. It’s a huge hassle to change the Twilio number to a new number to pair with a phone number. Twilio refuses to provide support by phone, and their email support is horrible. I would stay far away from Twilio

Jonny you omitted that Twilio only accept US credit cards, which makes the rest of your points above somewhat academic for non-US customers

I found a tip from another site. You have to use your number pad not the row of numbers at the top of your keyboard. Mine wasn’t working like Jana, but now it will! YAY! Thanks for the list and the tips!
