Meet Prince Hubertus of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, the German prince who is skiing for Mexico in the 2010 Olympics. I don’t really care about the Olympics, but when I see a name like Hubertus von Hohenlohe, I can’t help but take notice. I’d tell you more, but Time magazine has beaten me to the punch. Although, I’m considering him for honorary inclusion into the Foppish Dandy Database, purely based on his name alone.
Apparently he’s also a photographer AND a pop singer who performs under the names Andy Himalaya and Royal Disaster.
Here’s one of his videos, a song called “I Want Pop”:
This video for “Undiscovered Streets” highlights some of the 51 year-old’s accomplishments:
My personal arch-nemesis, Dominic Arizona Bonuccelli, has upped the ante by starring in his own TV show on the National Geographic Channel.
The description of National Geographic Channel’s “Lonely Planet Roads Less Traveled: Spain” says:
“They’re sending one of their most intrepid photojournalists, Dominic Bonuccelli, into the country’s northern provinces. His mission, to get off the beaten track and discover what can be found down the road less traveled.”
Well played, Arizona. Well played indeed. You may have one this round, but ultimately Diggz shall emerge victorious.
Pirate Fembots can be quite demanding. I set up a WordPress blog for her A YEAR AGO, and now she’s finally getting around to using it.
And also apparently now she’s not satisfied with WordPress’s built-in image tools.
And who can blame her? They kinda suck.
So here’s my first attempt. Picasa (by Google) integration. I’ve been using Picasa for years to import and store my photos. For fancy stuff, I use Photoshop. For simple cropping etc, Picasa does just fine. And you can store your pics online (like Flickr).
So here’s try number 1: Insert 1 photo (this is a flyer from 2 years ago).
that seems to work just fine. I press the plugin button, it pops up a list of my Public Picasa galleries, and I just go into a gallery, choose my photo and BANG…there it is!
Now, to show a whole GALLERY? This is a gallery I just uploaded of old Los Diggaz flyers and tags we put on cute girls:
My buddy, Larry Larsen, took 264 individual photos from the Apollo 11 Moon Landing mission and composited them using Microsoft Photosynth. The result is stunning…
I think my favorite is “forlorn puppy with bandaged leg”, from the Panama gallery.
“Papa, why have you forsaken me?” little Pepito thought as he searched the dark alleys for his missing father.
Pepito winced at each step as the fresh wound in his leg sent stabbing pains through his adolescent body. He no longer heard the crowd of enraged villagers behind him, but he knew they were still searching for him…and the secret microchip that Dr. Sintesto had surgically implanted in his leg only hours ago. The microchip that would not only save his father’s life, but save the lives of countless puppies around the world.
