Easy Picasa Plugin for WordPress
post entry title background

Pirate Fembots can be quite demanding.   I set up a WordPress blog for her A YEAR AGO, and now she’s finally getting around to using it.

And also apparently now she’s not satisfied with WordPress’s  built-in image tools.

And who can blame her?  They kinda suck.

So here’s my first attempt.  Picasa (by Google) integration. I’ve been using Picasa for years to import and store my photos.  For fancy stuff, I use Photoshop.  For simple cropping etc, Picasa does just fine.  And you can store your pics online (like Flickr).

So here’s try number 1:  Insert 1 photo (this is a flyer from 2 years ago).

that seems to work just fine.  I press the plugin button, it pops up a list of my Public Picasa galleries, and I just go into a gallery, choose my photo and BANG…there it is!

Now, to show a whole GALLERY?  This is a gallery I just uploaded of old Los Diggaz flyers and tags we put on cute girls:

Seems to work pretty good.

Awesome Photosynth – Apollo 11 Campsite

My buddy, Larry Larsen, took 264 individual photos from the Apollo 11 Moon Landing mission and composited them using Microsoft Photosynth.  The result is stunning…

So there are more of these floating around, but this is the first batch I have uploaded to Picasa. It’s also giving me an opportunity to try out a new Picasa WordPress plugin called KB Easy PicasaWeb. If it works correctly, all I have to do is create a link to my Picasa web album, and the plugin should create the gallery and import the captions directly from my Picasa Album. Just hit the Read More link below or click on the title of this post to see the gallery.

Dominic Arizona Bonuccelli Photography

My friend Nic Bonuccelli just emailed a new batch of photos from his worldly travels, the latest from Haiti and Panama. Here are the links:

PANAMA GALLERY – cockfights, military police, and christmas in the tropics – everything BUT the canal

HAITI GALLERY – oil barrels as art, head-balancing, and everyday life in one of the toughest countries in the world

TEATRO ZINZANNI CIRCUS

I think my favorite is “forlorn puppy with bandaged leg”, from the Panama gallery.

“Papa, why have you forsaken me?” little Pepito thought as he searched the dark alleys for his missing father.

Pepito winced at each step as the fresh wound in his leg sent stabbing pains through his adolescent body. He no longer heard the crowd of enraged villagers behind him, but he knew they were still searching for him…and the secret microchip that Dr. Sintesto had surgically implanted in his leg only hours ago. The microchip that would not only save his father’s life, but save the lives of countless puppies around the world.
