Hi, I’m Johnny Diggz, thanks for clicking this link.
(Every single click feeds my narcissism just a tiny bit more)
Since 1996, I’ve played an integral role in the formation, funding and incubation of several companies in the unified communications, film, theater, music, social networking and interactive marketing arenas.
My first startup, IRdg, launched iPost Universal Messaging in 1997 which was licensed by Motorola and Ericsson and was eventually acquired by MediaGate (now part of Elron).
In 2000, I co-founded Voxeo with Jonathan Taylor. For over 10 years, Voxeo has been demolishing barriers and unlocking communications between disparate networks, varying protocols and proprietary social communication tools. A decade later hundreds of thousands of developers, 45,000 companies (including half of the Fortune 100), have run millions of applications on Voxeo’s global cloud network and premise solutions.
As part of the Voxeo Labs team, I’m the Chief Technology Evangelist for Tropo and our ever-growing community of developers building the next generation of communication applications…beyond just social networking to everything from speech-driven IVR, VoIP solutions, SMS, IM, Twitter, Skype and whatever technologies may emerge next.
In 2001, I co-founded Caius Productions with J.J. Ruscella. Caius is a Florida-based independent film production company. Our feature film, The Karaoke King, shot entirely in Central Florida, premiered in 2008 at the Cinema City International Film Festival. Caius is currently developing Kris, a novel and movie about the man behind the legend of Santa:
In 2003, I launched J3 Communications, an interactive media company with one foot firmly in the technology world and the other in the marketing world. We’ve helped giant brands like Pepsi, NASCAR, 7-Eleven, Publix, and the NFL integrate some of the most widely used interactive phone, SMS and social media applications into their marketing strategies. Since inception, J3 has successfully executed hundreds of interactive promotions for our clients, reaching millions of brand-conscious consumers.
In 2009 I started Tweet3PO, a community project I launched with Dave Grobleski as an extension to the traditional neighborhood watch. Tweet3PO empowers citizens with quick and easy ways to receive and distribute information on a neighborhood or citywide basis using existing social networks like Twitter and Facebook.
In 2010 I founded +) GWOBorg (Geeks Without Bounds), an international humanitarian organization with a mission to assist people whose lives may be threatened due to lack of access to information, communications or technology in situations of catastrophe, violence or neglect. I announced this organization at Gnomedex 10 in Seattle:
I love nothing more than to make a fool of myself and play music, so when I’m not starting companies or making movies (or crafting narcissistic blog entries about myself), I can often be found performing dueling pianos on stage at Baby Grands on Church Street, solo at the Red Fox Lounge in Winter Park or with my trio, Lounge Diggaz. Here’s Lounge Diggaz hard at work performing “The Devil Swung Down to Georgia”:
And last –but surely not least— I host and help produce podcasts with Ryan Valeriano at The Channel Project, including co-hosting the highly rated Drew Show Podcast.
I was born in Philadelphia, PA and hold dual citizenship with the United States and the Republic of Ireland.
And my best friend in the world is a professional stuntwoman.
Her name is Jen Jo.
And she rocks.
