what if my laptop doesnt have a “num lock” key? how can i do them symbols?

I found a tip from another site. You have to use your number pad not the row of numbers at the top of your keyboard. Mine wasn’t working like Jana, but now it will! YAY! Thanks for the list and the tips!

Depends on what kind of machine you’re using. You can always copy/paste them directly from the post.

Also on a Mac, you have to use the Option key (right side of the spacebar) but there are different characters for each number.

Same problem as Jana was having (“having trouble getting these to work on facebook. I hit “alt” and when I push the cooreponding number it kicks the cursor to the top of the screen and out of the comment box making nothing happen”) – any advice?
