Orlando Pedicabs, AKA Thugs on Wheels, AKA Bums on Bikes

Pedicab....is that what they are called? Sorry, I call them BUMS ON BIKES! In recent years in Downtown Orlando Florida, these pedicabs have popped up everywhere. Initially it was just one company (I think, because they all wore yellow shirts). They basically lug drunk people from bar to bar, supposedly for a "donation" (although I have heard from more than one person that they can be very threatening if you don't cough up enough "donation").

First of all, Orlando doesn't need pedicabs. The whole downtown "entertainment area" is about 4 blocks wide!

So earlier this evening, I was about to step off the street that the Orlando Police Department has closed already, but I saw a "happy go-lucky-pedicab" come across my path. He stopped right in front of us as we were about to cross the street.

"You guys need a ride?", he asks.

"No, just waiting for you to get out of our way," I replied.

After walking across the street, he comes at me and threatens to kill me. Really, the guy got off of his bicycle and said he was going to KILL ME. Micky got between us and fortunately there were Orlando Police Department Officers nearby.

He walked back to his bike...he was about 6'2", white male, glasses, short black hair, white shirt. The bike style I don't remember..but the back part was red...with some stickers. No other identification that I can recall.

Tomorrow I'm going to call the city and file an official complaint against these unregulated thugs on wheels.
